Reliving

There are monsters
Somewhere I refuse to look.
I must feed them
Appease their gnawing.
Nobody taught me
The lessons dripped red along my thighs
And spelled trust broken
And spelled nameless pain.
Feed me or I shall consume you.
I follow the remembered trail
Backwards and obey.
I offer all within reach.
Oh sweet peace when my
Tasks are done won't you please
Come out and play?
